Acupuncture Mondays at Simply Spa - by Melissa Marcy

I am so grateful to be part of the Simply Spa team. I have been welcomed with open arms in the form of supportive coworkers, doctor referrals, and return patients, since I joined the Santee community last year.
In 2012 I began serving the Eastlake area of Chula Vista as a massage therapist practicing Asian Bodywork Therapy, and in 2016, I expanded my South Bay practice to include acupuncture. In 2017 my acupuncture practice grew to include the East County.
Everyone can benefit from acupuncture. I work with adolescents with ADHD, nonagenarians with chronic pain, and men and women of all ages in between, dealing with issues like stress, anxiety, insomnia, migraines, allergies, IBS, facial paralysis, and TMJ and body pain.
A common question about acupuncture is: Does it hurt? The answer is no. Very thin, sterile, single-use needles are used, and many people do not even feel the insertion. Though a sensation may be felt during treatment, painful is not an accurate word to describe acupunctu…
